EDC: America’s Neo-Firework Show

It’s oddly quiet with the background thumps and ground-rumbling drops when you’re walking between stages at EDC Las Vegas. (Or maybe I just have bad hearing due to said thumps and rumbles.) But when the main firework show starts every night around 1:30 a.m., everyone (around 135,000 people) cheers as the sky is lit up with electric and neon pyrotechnic stars.

Have a safe & happy #4thofJuly! 🇺🇸 💥 🙌 #EDCLV

The fireworks are legendary and only fitting I showcase them on Independence Day this year. They were especially impressive on Day 2 when Porter Robinson’s grand finale popped off in conjunction with the nightly show. The sky lit up as Robinson blasted “Language” to nearly 8 minutes of fireworks.

I know a lot of cities rival each other year over year for the best Independence Day firework show but I have to tell ya, EDC probably beats them all. Rumored to spend half a million dollars’ worth, Insomniac knows how to put on an awesome show. They’re experts in the new American firework. And when I say awesome, I mean that awe-inspiring, stop dead in your tracks and can’t look away awesome.

The mid-June festival incorporates various styles of dance music including trap, bounce, trance, techno, bass, house, hard-style and so much more! Check out my review from last year to learn more about the event.
