This week I heard the “because that’s how we always do it” excuse for the last time. Why? Of course, when you push to find out why something can’t be changed or done differently, the reason never has any real substance or merit. What I’ve learned in the corporate world from non-entrepreneurs is that it’s easier to say “no” than it is to say “yes.” Why is that acceptable to so many people?
Albert Einstein famously observed the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a difference result. And while I can hear your groans now on that over-played sentiment, I can’t express enough the importance of not doing what your competitors are doing. Why do you want to be the norm?
